AmeriCorps Environmental Educator
Short Description
AmeriCorps Environmental Educators assist the education department with the planning and teaching of K-12 and adult programming, and develop grade-specific curriculum and programming with live animals. All program development will include writing a curriculum, creating materials, training volunteers, and presenting programs. Environmental Educators also assist with special events like Boofest, Candlelight Snowshoe Hikes, Maple Fest, Native Plant Sale, Butterfly Fest, Wisconsin Master Naturalist training, and more.
Environmental Educators play a significant role in developing, organizing, and leading nature-based summer camps, school field trips, recreation programs, and seasonal programs for all ages.
Other responsibilities include caring, training, and presenting with animal ambassadors (reptiles, amphibians, and raptors), assisting with maintenance and care of exhibits, buildings, and education areas, presenting at and attend offsite outreach events, and developing interpretive displays and exhibits.
