Chief Executive Officer – National Association for Interpretation Remote, US | $120,000–$130,000 + performance incentives
The National Association for Interpretation (NAI), a 501(c)(3) serving 5,000 members across 30+ countries, advances heritage interpretation — connecting people to natural, cultural, and historic resources through storytelling, exhibits, and guided experiences in parks, museums, and beyond. NAI seeks a Chief Executive Officer to lead through a period of modernization and strategic growth.
The CEO will stabilize operations, strengthen the training and certification portfolio, diversify revenue, and deepen board partnership. This hands-on role spans strategy, finance, staff leadership, fundraising, and external engagement.
Ideal candidates bring:
• Senior nonprofit or association leadership
• Strong financial and operational management skills
• Board governance experience
• Fundraising and partnership development
• Commitment to inclusion and accessibility
Experience in membership-based organizations preferred. Familiarity with museums, parks, or cultural institutions helpful but not required.
