AmeriCorps Avian Field Technician
Short Description
Beaver Creek Reserve’s Avian Field Technician position has two primary goals of supporting hands-on training in avian research, conservation, and citizen science through active participation in a working avian monitoring station, and supporting the Citizen Science Center in operating the Avian Monitoring Program efficiently and professionally through data collection, project coordination, public outreach, and site management.
The Avian Field Technician will also participate in various projects including but not limited to weekly feeder bird banding, American Kestrel Nest Box Monitoring, MAPS (Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship), Christmas Bird Count, Bald Eagle Nest Watch, Bluebird Restoration Project, Northern Saw-whet Owl Migration Monitoring, and public outreach and education programs.
