Salary: $17,000 living allowance, $6,340 education award and on-site subsidized housing
The Ogden Nature Center is a nonprofit nature education center and nature preserve. Our mission is to unite people with nature and nurture appreciation and stewardship of the environment. We are recruiting one AmeriCorps member for 11 months of service to begin approximately January 31st. This position is offered through Utah Conservation Corps.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience and practice a wide range of skills including teaching, curriculum development and environmental education.

Primary Duties Include:
• Perform events related to environmental stewardship or environmental education.
• Onsite School Programs - Schedule and conduct environmental education programs for school children; assist in the development of curriculum, activities, and exhibits.
• Work with our outreach team to lead science education programming to first grade students throughout the state of Utah.
• Develop and conduct preschool, home school and after school programs.
• Provide programs for groups with special needs, such as underserved populations, elderly and developmentally disabled.
• Community Education - assist with community program development, implementation, and strengthen community awareness.
• Develop a data tracking plan and collect and report AmeriCorps impact data timely and accurately.
• Summer Camps – Assist in camp planning and implementation.
• Events – Assist with planning and organization of special events.
