Executive Director
Short Description
Placer Nature Center (PNC) is a small, community-based nonprofit environmental education organization serving children, families, schools, and community groups throughout Placer County and the surrounding region. Founded in 1991, PNC connects people with the natural world through hands-on programs focused on local ecology, wildlife, plants, and conservation.
PNC is supported by a dedicated network of staff, volunteers, educators, community partners, and donors. Its programs include school and community education, family nature programs, summer camps, and special events that help people of all ages develop a deeper understanding of and connection to the natural world.
PNC’s Executive Director provides overall leadership and management of the organization while working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, organized and adaptable, and comfortable building relationships across a diverse community. They bring initiative and sound judgment to the day-to-day operation of a small nonprofit and are able to balance organizational management with the hands-on work required to keep programs and operations moving forward.
The Executive Director will help guide PNC into its next chapter while honoring the organization’s long history and strengthening its programs, partnerships, fundraising, and community presence.
