The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking an environmental education program coordinator to coordinate and manage nature and science programs based out of the Tualatin Hills Nature Center. The ideal candidate has experience coordinating environmental education programs for a wide range of audiences, training and managing staff, coordinating multiple programs simultaneously, and is passionate about sharing their love of nature and science with the diverse community we serve. Successful applicants will have at least three years of full-time equivalent (40 hours per week, annually) experience managing staff and coordinating environmental education programs at a medium-to-large sized nature center, science center, museum or park setting and the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with coursework in environmental education, interpretation or a science-related field. The program coordinator reports to the center supervisor and exercises lead direction over assigned part-time/seasonal employees and volunteers. The typical work schedule for this position (subject to change with ample notice) is Monday through Friday from 8am – 5pm. Program coordinators are expected to assume a flexible schedule, if needed, and can expect to work at least one weekend each month and occasional evening shifts during the week.
