General Manager
Short Description
The General Manager is a full-time, exempt, in-person leadership role at the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium (CNCP), reporting to the Executive Director. This position primarily focuses on managing staff, interns, and volunteers while overseeing the coordination and execution of programs and events. The General Manager supervises front desk personnel and volunteers, creates staffing schedules, supports onboarding and training, and ensures strong team communication and accountability. The role also leads coordination for planetarium shows, field trips, camps, facility rentals, fundraisers, and community events, managing logistics, guest flow, and on-site operations to deliver high-quality visitor experiences.
In addition, the General Manager oversees daily public operations, memberships, admissions, and reporting while maintaining safety, compliance, and organizational standards. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive leader with strong supervisory and event management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
