PROGRAMS
Programs are the core of the ANCA Summit. In the variety of Summit programs, you can connect with peers and experts in a supportive learning environment, while also building a network of professional relationships that will strengthen your work throughout the year.
Programs explore all aspects of management of nature centers and related organizations, as well as trends in our profession. Program topics are specific to leaders and aspiring leaders of these organizations, and you will find answers to both big-picture and nuts-and-bolts questions in these programs.
LICHTERMAN NATURE CENTER
Tucked away in the heart of metropolitan Memphis, Lichterman Nature Center (LNC) brings nature to life with exciting exhibits, native wildflowers and trees, and a tradition of excellence in environmental education set in the midst of 65 acres of lake, meadow, and forest. Home to a wide variety of plants, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals, Lichterman is an urban wildlife oasis. Lichterman features nearly three miles of hiking trails, a Visitor Center with exhibits, a plant nursery, the Davidson Pavilion, and a Backyard Wildlife Center teaming with snakes, turtles and other creatures.
Lichterman Nature Center is part of the Memphis Museum of Science & History (MoSH).
MEMPHIS
With its Southern hospitality, rich history, and lively entertainment scene, Memphis offers a vibrant and diverse cultural experience. Visitors can explore the city’s legacy of blues, soul, and rock n’ roll and tour its many destinations for dining, history, culture, and art.
LODGING
Summit participants receive a special discount on lodging at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Memphis on Sanderlin Avenue, conveniently located less than four miles from Lichterman Nature Center.
We will offer daily shuttle service between the hotel and LNC. DoubleTree by Hilton offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the Memphis International Airport.
