The Education and Research Director is responsible for planning and implementing the organization’s environmental curriculum and educational programming, as well as overseeing research projects. The Education and Research Director reports to the Executive Director, who manages a staff of eight employees. MNP seeks an enthusiastic and focused Director with strong teaching, research and communication skills. The successful candidate will: • Possess leadership abilities that can develop and guide a variety of educational programs serving a range of age and school groups; • Be comfortable working in a collaborative environment with stakeholders ranging from school children to volunteer scientists; • Have the knowledge to conduct and oversee floral and faunal monitoring and reporting; and • Possess a passion for educating people about the environment. Candidates should also have: • A Bachelor’s degree in education, ecology, environmental science, or closely related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A Master’s degree is preferred; • At least two years of teaching experience, with a State teaching license preferred; • General knowledge about Wisconsin ecosystems; and • Experience and comfort, and ability to recruit and work with volunteers, school groups, and the public.
