Jenn Wright

Executive Director at Grass River Natural Area in Bellaire, MI

Jenn Wright has the distinct honor of being the Executive Director at the Grass River Natural Area in beautiful Bellaire, MI. It’s been over 20 years since she began her career as an Environmental Educator at the Chippewa Nature Center, and then she spent 17 years at the Kalamazoo Nature Center where she held a variety of positions, including Program Director, VP of Education, and finally Chief Operating Officer. With a diverse set of skills and experience, Jenn spends her days involved in: staff and business administration, strategic and operational planning, annual budget oversight, grant writing and fundraising, project implementation, interpretive program development and delivery, and the development of high-functioning teams.

She holds a B.S. degree from Central Michigan University in Biology and has received both the regional and national Master Interpretive Manager awards through the National Association for Interpretation. In her spare time, Jenn enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs exploring the Northwoods of Michigan and she enjoys hiking, gardening, and running.

As an ANCA Board member, Jenn currently serves as Chair of the Regional Workshop Committee and as a member of the Governance Committee. “From professional networking at the Annual Summit, to mentorships opportunities, to participation in organizational consults, ANCA exemplifies what it means to be a leader in our profession.
