Amber Parker has worked in the field of nature and environmental education centers for over 24 years. Currently the Executive Director of Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville, TN, Amber has also lead Chincoteague Bay Field Station near Chincoteague Island, VA, worked as Education Director at Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, as well as other nature centers. Amber has been a member of the Association of Nature Center Administrators since 2001 and has served on its Board for the past 5 years. “ANCA is a lifeline for the nature center executive,” she says. “The collaboration between centers across the world makes us strong and resilient as we navigate between nonprofit management, land conservation, educational programming, and myriad other aspects of such a unique industry.”
