Mar 16 2021

Time: 11am PT  /  12pm MT  /  1pm CT  /  2pm ET

How do I manage volunteers when I am so busy myself, what should the training address for my site, how do I keep track of their important time? Join in a 90-minute Facilitated Discussion about Volunteer Programs and the challenges and success that make volunteers successful as vital members of our organizations. A recent ANCA Discussion Forum thread has generated many questions from participants searching for resources to better manage a Volunteer Program. Bring your questions, resources, and the challenges you want to discuss.

Topics may include:

  • Volunteer Handbooks and Training
  • Tracking valuable time of Volunteers
  • General management of Volunteers with our own busy schedules

Sarah Reding, ANCA Events Coordinator, has worked with volunteers for her whole career beginning at the Illinois State Museum as part of her master’s work, creating a volunteer program and manual. As a staff member of the Kalamazoo Nature Center for 28 years, she worked with volunteers in education, research, and stewardship programs, with diverse volunteer skills and tasks.

ANCA Member CONNECTS are virtual meetings exclusively for ANCA members. These meetings can be topic-specific or simply an open space for members to come together. In CONNECTS, all attendees contribute to a shared dialogue that brings out an abundance of perspectives, possibilities, and renewed energy.
