Florida Peer Meeting: Summer Day Camp Planning

Description

Time: 1-2pm EST (Additional 15 minutes will be available to those who want to connect with others or for continued questions, comments)

The Association of Nature Center Administrators (ANCA) invites you to join your peers for a meeting designed for those who work in nature and environmental learning centers throughout Florida.

For many organizations, planning for the 2021 summer camp season means starting with many unknowns and questions due to the extended impact of COVID-19. Join us for this ANCA Peer Meeting as we discuss many of these topics including capacity limits, changes to group size, overnight trip considerations, screening strategies, hiring and staff recruitment issues, and ideas for effective parent/camper communication.

If your center ran a successful camp program in 2020, we welcome you to share tips and tricks with those whose programs were closed last summer. While we cannot guarantee solutions for all of these questions, the goal is to encourage dialogue and provide an opportunity to build a network of camp administrators who can mutually support one another as we approach the camp season. Administrators are encouraged to have their camp directors attend.

This is hosted by ANCA Board Meeting, Chad Truxell, Marine Discovery Center and Leanne Welch, Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.

This meeting is open to any nature & environmental learning center professional in Florida.  You do not need to be an ANCA member but membership is always encouraged.
