Michigan Region

About:

The Michigan Region is in the heart of the Great Lakes and is home to a diversity of nature centers, parks, science centers, land trusts, and other organizations dedicated to connecting people of all ages and ability levels to nature. Through the years there have been various attempts within Michigan to gather these groups together to exchange ideas, visit new sites, and build a solid networking group within the state. The Michigan ANCA Region does just that! Over the last few years we have held meetings at Chippewa Nature Center, Grass River Natural Area, For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum, Howell Nature Center, Dahlem Center, Kalamazoo Nature Center, and Blandford Nature Center. Topics covered include: field guide publication, nature preschools, invasive exotic plant control methods, the many facets of partnerships and collaborations, managing small, rural Non-Profit Nature Centers, volunteer management, along with site tours and ample time to build relationships. If you are looking for a great way to get to know other professionals in the field consider attending one the Michigan ANCA Region meetings.
