Annual Summit



The 2017 Magnolia Summit will be hosted by the McDowell Environmental Education Programs in Nauvoo, AL from August 23-27, 2017. To register please follow the steps outlined below.

  • Full Package (Wed.-Sat.): $495
  • 2-Day Rate (Thurs. & Fri. or Fri. & Sat.): $448
  • 1-Day Rate (Thurs. or Fri. or Sat.): $375

Early Bird prices are listed above. After June 10 fees will increase by $50.

  • Miller/Parsley Commons Lodge Rooms-Single Occupancy: $110/night
  • Miller/Parsley Commons Lodge Rooms-Double Occupancy: $60/night
  • Scott House: $25/night + $5 for linens
  • Bethany Village Cabins: $18/night, no linens
  • Off-site Hotels (will require your own transportation)

Camp McDowell is located just over an hour northwest of Birmingham, about two hours southwest of Huntsville, two and a half hours northwest of Montgomery, and about two hours east of Columbus and Tupelo, Mississippi. We are found at mile marker 13, north of Jasper, on Highway 195. Camp McDowell 105 DeLong Rd. Nauvoo, AL 35578

9. Travel

Air Travel: Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is home to four major airlines, servicing over 100 daily flights to 25 cities. Driving time from BHM to McDowell Conference and Retreat Center is approximately 75 minutes. For more airport information, visit Fly Birmingham

Rental Cars: There are several rental car providers at the BHM Airport

Ride Share: Are you looking for someone to share a ride with? Join the ANCA 2017 Ride Share Board and find someone to travel with or share a rental car from BHM. You will have the opportunity to request being added to the Ride Share Board when you register (or send us an email now requesting to join).

Shuttles between BHM and McDowell Conference and Retreat Center: Shuttle service from BHM will be provided for $30 (one-way) and is limited to three pick-ups between the hours of 11am and 7pm on August 23. Final pick up times will be determined once we receive attendee flight information. Shuttle service to BHM will be provided for $30 and is limited to 5am and 10am on August 27. Please schedule your flights accordingly. Arriving or departing on another day? Join the Ride Share Board and find someone to share a ride with. 

Please Note: Due to the amount of available on-site accommodations, off-site hotel shuttles WILL NOT be offered at this year’s Summit. If staying off-site, you will need a car or should plan to carpool with another participant.
